Licensed Professional Counselor
Whether you are queer, trans, non-monogamous, or neurodivergent— whether you're AuDHD or live with OCD or C-PTSD— your unique identity & lived experience are valued & honored in this space. If you're looking for someone who gets you, because they share your identity & lived experience, then you're at the right place!
Allow me to introduce myself! I'm Lauren (he/him), & I am the psychotherapist & founder of Neuroqueering Counseling Services. I am a white, queer, trans, non-monogamous, disabled, Autistic ADHD'er (AuDHD) with lived experience of OCD. I value radical authenticity, & my approach is informed by my identities, clinical experience, & lived experience with OCD. I know firsthand what it's like to sit on the other side of the therapy room, & I welcome feedback about my clients' experiences!
If you're feeling anxious, burnt out, & full of self-doubt, you've come to the right place. Finding a therapist can be hard, but finding a good-fit therapist can be even harder. Maybe you've looked for therapists in the past & only found ones who didn't really get you, pathologized you, or wanted to "fix" you. You may be looking for someone who understands you, so you don't have to spend all session explaining every aspect of your existence, experience, or identity.
I started my private practice because I've had the dream of being a therapist since middle school. I wanted to help other people like me— because you deserve to be heard, seen, & understood. You deserve to find freedom from what is holding you back. Ready to get started? Click here to book your free consultation now!
As a therapist, I believe that my role is to act as a support to clients & to follow your lead. Understanding the value of lived experience, I honor the strength, wisdom, & intuition inside of you, & I aim to help you access & lean into that. I aim to provide clients with a safe space where we can explore, sit with, & process your emotions, thoughts, core beliefs, & lived experiences. I enjoy helping clients who are on a journey of self-discovery to explore & embrace their identities.
Because there is no “one-size-fits-all” in therapy, your therapy sessions are tailored to you. In our work together, I utilize an eclectic approach, drawing from I-CBT & ACT to help you take back your life & reconnect with your real, authentic self. I firmly believe in the freedom that comes from embracing mindfulness, acceptance, and a commitment to values-based living. Because of that, I incorporate these principles into my daily life.
